Airport Thoughts: Expectations

Allegedly via some book that Daia read, Happiness = Reality - Expectations, so if your expectations are too high, the probability is your happiness is going to suffer since your reality didn’t meet your expectations.

Now I give this context as I am trying to articulate for my future self how I am feeling now to have a better retrospective once this 4 month adventure comes to an end.

It has been a dream that started 2 years ago and slowly have been put into motion through hard work and thoughtful planning - but in the end could not be possible without supportive work culture.

It’s excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, and the feeling of unknown. The feeling of unknown forces no expectations because you’re distracted by executing really well on the safety, health, etc. I hope this travel experience gives us insight into how people think and do things from vastly different cultures.

There’s an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness and thankfulness. Too many things falling into place in our environment, made possible by so many, in order to have this.

Onward we go.

Quote of the day from Daia, “Yea I can totally see how one can lose purpose if you do this everyday.”
